What Is the Keeper Tee?
Every November, The Order of the Written Word hosts its biggest writing challenge, and with it, we release a limited edition t-shirt! As an organization which does not use "winner" and "loser" language, our shirts state that you are a Keeper of the Written Word. Because, by participating in an AI-free writing challenge, we are all keeping human creativity sacred.
Proceeds from the Keeper tee are split in 3 between The Order, the artist, & our chosen charity ProLiteracy.
This year's t-shirt design is by Brazillian artist Patricia Arbouki and features our mascot, the madhatterpillar! Because as authors sometimes it feels like we are wearing many heads--er, hats, all at once.
Yes, it is a real creature. Read more about it here!

Project Name
Artist: NIHIL
My name is Laurie. Years ago, I created NIHIL as a place to create my art macabre. For as long as I can remember I've been in love with the aesthetics of European medieval and renaissance art, captivated by the works of artists like Holbein, Dürer, Paradin and so many others. That evolved into a deep interest in those societies' vastly different relationships with death and the afterlife, as reflected in the works of the time.

Hello! I'm Patricia Arbouki, a freelance illustrator and visual artist currently based in Japan. I create illustrations for book covers, magazines, music albums, posters, and drink labels.
My work reflects a deep fascination with lines and details, combining delicacy with visual impact. In personal projects, I enjoy experimenting with textures, colors, shapes and typography, exploring new ways to convey ideas.
